Functionality of time cockpit

Users of today's time tracking software fill in time sheets just as people did over the past decades. The time sheets are managed digitally, but principally the process is the same as if a user would write down his work time with a pencil on a piece of paper. The manual form of data collection is error-prone. In practice busy people do not take notes about their work in situ. They tend to perform this task after some days, trying to recover it from memory.

time cockpit is different! It allows people to do their job without the burden of having to note time. The software tracks their behavior securely and with respect to their privacy. At the end of the day, week or month time cockpit provides a great user interface supporting the employee in the process of transforming the collected information regarding their behavior into time bookings relevant to their companies.

Signal Tracker

Great technology stands out by staying in the background when it is not directly needed. Conventional time tracking systems do not work like this. User have to interrupt what they do to manually make notes about content and time of their work. If you are someone who works in the services business you know that in practise there are often situations in which manually taking notes is not possible or simply forgotten.

time cockpit solves this problem. Users can install time cockpit's Signal Tracker on the electronic devices they regularly use for work (e.g. desktop computer, laptop, mobile phone, etc.). time cockpit tracks their electronic footprints. At the same time privacy is of great value for us. time cockpit encrypts the collected signals with a password known only to the individual user and not to the company she works in. Therefore the software cannot be used to look at signals from other users or for analyzing signal data across a team.

Timesheets

The time cockpit Signal Trackers stay in the background just like a little assistant sitting on the user's shoulder taking notes about her work. When it is time to concentrate on time tracking time cockpit makes an appearance. Based on the signals tracked by time cockpit's Signal Tracker users can correctly and with little effort reconstruct when they performed which tasks and create appropriate time sheet records. In contrast to signals, time sheets are available for the whole team.

time cockpit never automatically converts signals into time sheets. The risk of misunderstandings would be too high. A walk in the park may look like a break, it could also be used for thinking about a tricky problem leading to a great breakthrough. The final decision whether something was work or private, billable or not billable, etc. has to ultimately stay in the response of the individual person.

Backoffice

time cockpit is not a software for project planning, it is also not a complete ERP system. time cockpit really concentrates on the very process of time tracking. Thereby it is dedicated to support users as good as possible.

To make it possible to embed time cockpit seamlessly into backoffice processes the software has been equipped with a wide range of functions to import and export data. Regardless if you simply want to export your timesheets into Microsoft Office Excel or you want to completely automate interfaces with your ERP system - time cockpit leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to interfaces.

However, adaptability does not end with interfaces in time cockpit. Power users and partners can tailor data structures, validity rules, workflows and many parts of the user interface to their specific needs. You can work with Excel or SharePoint? Yes - you will be able to make time cockpit to the time tracking tool you have always dreamed of!
