Time Cockpit remains highly customizable, allowing you to extend or modify role definitions if necessary. Importantly, existing customer configurations remain untouched unless you choose to activate these new defaults.
We place great importance on ensuring the compatibility of new features with existing customer customizations. However, there are some aspects of the Default Permissions that need to be considered. Therefore, please make sure to review our Migration Guide or contact us directly at support@timecockpit.com if you have any questions.
This is managed seamlessly through our feature flag system, which allows you to enable these new default roles on your own schedule, ensuring controlled and safe transitions.
One of the biggest challenges in time tracking is maintaining data integrity. Whether it’s for payroll, invoicing, or compliance audits, companies need reliable, tamper-proof time entries. With the new Booking Completion feature, Time Cockpit allows you to define a deadline for time entries. Once this deadline is reached, users can no longer modify or add bookings before that date. This ensures data accuracy and prevents last-minute changes that could disrupt payroll calculations or compliance checks.
This feature not only strengthens your audit trails but also reduces administrative back-and-forth during month-end closings. Your team can finalize timesheets with confidence, knowing that the records are accurate and unaltered. Learn more
If you require custom booking finalization logic to align with company-specific rules or legal requirements, we can implement tailored solutions to match your needs.
Regulatory checks have become significantly more flexible. Instead of just one rule set per account, you can now define working time limits per weekly working hours. This lets you:
This flexibility means you can comply with local regulations and internal agreements, avoiding costly legal risks and ensuring fair work conditions for your staff. More details
If you need even more specific rules because you have company-specific regulations, just let us know, and we will work with you on a customized rule set.
Email overload is a real problem, especially in project-based environments. That’s why we’ve introduced a notification system directly within the Time Cockpit web client. The bell icon in the top right corner allows users to receive system messages and alerts about:
These in-app notifications help you stay informed while reducing email clutter—streamlining communication where it happens: right inside your time tracking software.
Got ideas for how notifications could support your workflows? Want to get rid of the email flood troubling your users? Let us know – we’re happy to explore custom solutions with you.
Effective resource planning starts with visibility. Our new Absence Calendar, currently in preview, offers a graphical overview of holidays, vacations, sick leave, and compensatory time off. This allows team leaders and HR managers to quickly understand team availability, minimizing scheduling conflicts and improving project planning. In one of the upcoming versions, we are rounding up this feature with a default absence approval workflow (facilitating the Notifications features)
Would you like to try it? It’s available on request — just reach out to support@timecockpit.com.
You can now search directly within the time booking calendar to quickly find relevant entries. As you type, all bookings that don’t match your search term become transparent, allowing you to focus on what matters without losing context. Additionally, you can simply click on a format profile (e.g. “Meeting”, “Support”, etc.) to instantly highlight all time entries using that profile. This makes it easier to analyze patterns, spot inconsistencies, or confirm booking completeness – all without leaving the calendar view.
As part of our modernization efforts, we’ve migrated the core list component from AngularJS to modern Angular. Next up are the Forms, which will complete the transition away from older frameworks. Tackling technical debt is essential to ensure long-term maintainability, better performance, and compatibility with modern browsers and tools. It also enables us to deliver new features faster, such as filterable dashboards – a long-requested capability. By investing in this upgrade now, we’re securing a stable, future-proof foundation for your daily work in Time Cockpit. Learn more about dashboards
