Enterprise Features: SSO, Sandbox and Your Own Azure Subscription

Single Sign-On with Microsoft Entra ID

Single sign-on (SSO) is essential for modern organizations seeking to improve security. time cockpit connects to Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) as identity provider: your employees sign in with their company accounts, and your security policies apply in time cockpit too. User accounts can also be created and deactivated automatically through the time tracking Web API. The same Entra tenant also unlocks the MCP server for AI assistants: one app registration, after which users sign in to Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot with their work account.

Cloud Infrastructure

time cockpit runs entirely on Microsoft Azure, in ISO 27001 certified data centers in the EU (Amsterdam and Dublin). Databases and web servers run as clusters with several nodes, and Microsoft manages the disaster recovery backups redundantly in both data centers. How operations, GDPR and encryption are handled in detail is described on security and data protection.

Dedicated Database

At time cockpit, we take the protection of your data seriously. That’s why every customer has a database of their own: from the first user on, we provide a three-node database cluster for your time cockpit account, in every plan. Your data is completely isolated from other customers’ data. This means that we can easily back up and restore your database if something goes wrong, or set up an additional sandbox database of your own.

Database in Your Own Azure Subscription

Some customers prefer to keep their data within their own Microsoft Azure subscription. In the Business plan, your time cockpit database can live in your own Azure subscription instead of ours on request, as long as it is reachable by our server farms. This lets you scale your database up or down as needed and gives you complete control over your data management.

Sandbox Environment

A sandbox is an additional database of your own next to your production database, a replica of your production environment at a specific point in time. There you can test new features and customizations of your time tracking before releasing them to your production environment. In the Business plan, this additional sandbox database is free on request; if you opt for our Made-to-Measure offer, we create it for you automatically. The Web API works not just on the production environment, but also on the sandbox.

Backups

The safety and integrity of your data are of utmost importance. That’s why your database can be restored to any point in time within the last 35 days. Even if one of your batch updates goes wrong, we can bring back the state before the mistake. This option is also available for sandbox environments, so your testing and development data is just as secure.

Support and Onboarding

The Business plan includes priority support with faster response times and scheduled phone or web meeting appointments, plus two hours of personal onboarding. From 50 users on, a personal customer success manager looks after you. All services of the plans are compared on the pricing page.
